How pretty is that gallery wall. Can you believe 10 bloggers working together, but spread all over the country, came up with something so cohesive? Believe me, we messaged each other a lot! The green piece is mine. But I bet you already knew that if you’re a frequent visitor here.

The wood piece was once part of a table. I bet that table was a beauty. Look at all those details.

Gallery Wall Project before photo

The piece has been in my wood stash FOREVER, just waiting on the perfect project. I gave it a good cleaning then started painting.

FolkArt Multi Surface Acylic Paint color Fresh Foliage

The color is Fresh Foliage from FolkArt.

Painting with FolkArt acrylic paint

I only needed one coat of the acrylic paint to cover the wood.

Distressing paint with a damp rag

For this project I wet distressed the details. I wet the rag with Simple Green and rubbed the paint off. This technique works best if the paint is just dry. I almost waited too long because I had to rub really hard to get the paint off. By using this technique the original dark wood finish shines. Sandpaper would have taken the paint and the wood finish right off. No raw wood for me.

One more look at it hanging in my house. It could be hanging in your home along with 9 other gallery wall pieces.
