Home and Home

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013

I went home to Arkansas for a few days to see my parents.

The plan was for my parents, brother and his wife and their grandson to come to Tennessee to visit with us. But my mom didn’t feel up to it so we went to see her instead. She’s had health issues for a few years and a medication mix-up made her a little sick.

She’s feeling better now.

My husband and I were born and raised in Arkansas. Our brothers and sister, aunts and uncles, cousins and other kin are all there. We miss everyone and always look forward to visiting with them.

But then I’m always glad to get home.

I have two homes. The home where I was born and raised. The home where my parents still welcome me with hugs and kisses.

Then there is my home here in Tennessee. The home where my children were raised and where they come to visit and bring my grandchildren to visit.

I feel very blessed. There’s a lot of love in my two homes.
