Mustard Seed Yellow Happy Dance

What’s your happy color? Mine is yellow.

Mustard Seed Yellow Happy Dance Petticoat Junktion paint project

This cute little table has me doing the Mustard Seed Yellow Happy Dance! {it’s a new dance…I choreographed it myself} How about those curvy detailed legs? And all that milk paint chippyness?

project table before Petticoat Junktion

as found at the Nashville Flea Market

This table has to be the waterfall style….right? I haven’t seen one like it before…..it’s fun when I find something a little different. The table is missing a support board/thingie on the bottom. I painted her all up and the JTS {junktion technical specialist, aka hubby} took one look and said,  “I could have cut another board to got there”.

I know, but sometimes when I’m in the mood to work on a project…well, I’m ready then. Don’t know what I would do without the JTS to help me out and keep me on the straight and narrow. Like that’s possible!

While ya’ll are reading this we are at the VA Hospital in Nashville getting a pre-op work-up done on the JTS. When we were living in Pensacola a few years ago my hubby had a heart attack and they put one stent in an artery then. Now he needs more work. prayers would be appreciated moving on……

Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Mustard Seed project by Petticoat Junktion

I was ready for another milk paint project and since yellow is way up there on my favorite list…I pulled out a box of Mustard Seed Yellow. I mixed about 2/3 cup of powder with enough water to make a cup of paint. I like my milk paint a little thicker than some.

Chippy milk paint Petticoat Junktion project

I applied 2 coats of milk paint….back to back….it dries really fast. The paint was chipping in all the right places and I rubbed a rag over the whole table to take off the loose paint. I scraped a putty knife along all the edges on the legs and curvy details to knock off some more paint.

Miss Mustard Seed's Furniture Wax for project Petticoat Junktion_1

I finished it off with Miss Mustard Seed’s Furniture wax. The wax protects the finish and also gives it a nice patina.

From start to finish the table was completed in under 2 hours….really. {that drop cloth can tell you some stories} What’s you happy dance color? Leave a comment please….I do the happy dance over comments too. Have a great day, Kathy
