Do you want to see what I picked up at the September Nashville Flea Market?
I posted a few pictures from last month’s market and Donna Kay from One of a Kind Finds-Vintage Fare wanted to know what I bought.
Thanks for asking Donna.
I got this chest which at first glance doesn’t look too bad.
I actually like the color and the silver hardware.
I’m not too sure what is under that paint though.
It looks kind of like contact paper, uck.
The top is scratched up but what is under the paint looks like real wood.
I think someone put contact paper on the drawer fronts and the piece was painted at a later date.
Now for my color match question. Would you take a drawer to the paint store and get them to color match the paint or would you go in a totally different direction?
I like the overall look of the chest.
The silver handles compliment the brown color and the chest is a good size, not too big or too small.
I will not distress this piece no matter what color I paint it.
If that is contact paper, it could be a mess.
ok, moving on…..
I have another sad piece of furniture.
The dresser doesn’t look too bad from the front but the top is a mess.
I don’t have any plans for this one yet.
And you’ve probably seen this headboard.
It cost $5 and is now the centerpiece of my fall mantel display.
Any ideas about the brown chest?……or anything else?
