Painted Furniture show and tell—–Creamy Yellow Stenciled Table

SANY0027

Good morning all,
I have a show and tell today but first I wanted to thank you for stopping by.  I know you have a busy schedule, so thanks for making my project posts part of your day. Oh my, didn’t mean to get sappy.
On with the show and tell.

SANY0006

Just look at this great table I found. It has the original glass tray top. Sometimes I run across the tray and no table or the table and no tray, so to find the two together is awesome!

SANY0001

A better look at the glass tray.

SANY0008

It takes a while just getting all the supplies together.

SANY0020

Then I discovered a rickety leg so the table had to go through rehab before the makeover.

SANY0051

I mixed the paint myself. I combined Caromal Colours Mustard Basecoat and Caromal Colours Reclaim Off-white.

SANY0052

I always have a picture of the finished makeover in my head. I wanted this to be a cheery yellow with a bird stencil.  It wasn’t going that way but I continued on. I love bright colors and this was looking really boring.

SANY0055

I decided the finished color looked pretty good and I was inspired by many of you out there who have been using letter and number stencils.  In my stock of supplies I just happen to have several sets of alphabet stencils. I went with a mother earth stencil crème from Caromal Colours and some randomly placed stencils.

I’m glad to have found this great blogging community. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me the courage to try new things.

SANY0002

I did a little distressing with my power sander.

SANY0018

A little Liberon wax gave it a nice patina.

SANY0020

This little project turned out great.

SANY0027

I’m really being immodest (is that a real word)  aren’t I?

SANY0028

The stencils add just the right touch. Thanks for letting me share. I would love to hear your comments.
