I promised you a junked up bird house today and here it is.
Decorative Birdhouse Tutorial
Isn’t it cute!
My friend Sara gave it to me.
I love getting things for free.
I wanted to do jazz it up just a bit but I didn’t want to paint it.
Ya’ll never thought you’d hear me say that did you?
I found the broken up picture frame in my wood stash.
Even though I wanted to jazz it up I didn’t want it to be flashy.
So I tried to stay with neutral colors and vintage looking stuff.
I cut two pieces of the frame using my miter box and a small hand saw.
Then I used the hot glue gun to attach the pieces to the birdhouse.
Since it’s for decoration only the hot glue will do the job just fine.
It still needed a little something and I found the decorative gold pieces in one of my junk boxes.
I hot-glued it on too. Perfect.
The little perch is part of a rusty crusty latch. (hot-glued too)
The vintage glass lamp part is a perfect base for the birdhouse and the glass doo-dahs add to the display.
Everything here came from my junk hoard…except the bit of greenery from one of our shrubs.
Tell me what you like about the birdhouse and display…or tell me what you would change.
Have a great day,
linking to these parties….
