Pearl Blue and Red Painted Furniture- A Paint Workshop

We had another fun furniture painting workshop last month. We made new friends and shared furniture painting ideas along with celebrating a birthday

blue dresser

I’m starting with the after photos this time. Jeannie selected a soft blue for her dresser makeover. The paint almost had a pearly sheen to it.

hardware painted using Martha Stewart Metallic

The original hardware was painted with Martha Stewart Metallic Paint. Jeannie decided to put a clear gloss finish on the dresser after the blue paint cured for a few days, so we held off with putting all the hardware on.

stenciled shelf

Charles drove up from Nashville to paint with us. He chose Caromal Colours Candy Apple Red for his bookshelf then added some stenciling. We also teach stenciling and metal leafing techniques in the paint class. Love the color. Red painted furniture is bold and sassy.

red chest of drawers

Angela did a great job on this chest. She also used the Candy Apple Red and then did some moderate to heavy distressing on the piece. She’s going to get finish off the chest with some sports themed pulls. The chest will be perfect in her son’s room

We love presenting the workshops and making new friends or painting with old friends! Do ya’ll have a local shop that carries furniture painting supplies and gives workshops? Or maybe you teach workshops. Please share. You can leave a comment below.

  1. Looks like a fun class! I have done one painting class, and have another one planned for a couple weeks from now, but I have done awful with promoting. BOO! 🙁 Looks like you had a great turn-out!

  2. Excellent projects! There are a couple of pieces around here that could definitely use that kind of love!

  3. Great job, ladies! Love the way the red came out, but for my color scheme, I think the distressed white, silver or cream and pale blues are my faves…
Great workshop, wish you could drive to Cols Ohio and give one!! lol!
