Oh Marianne, I can’t imagine how you must have felt losing your dad at such a young age. Heartbreaking. At least I had my sweet Dad for a long time and spent as much time with him as I could in the last 15 years or so driving down to visit every month for sometimes a week, sometimes more. All my memories of my Dad are good ones. Thank you for sharing your story, Kathy
Hi, Kathy sending you a hug, I lost my Dad in 1973, He was 55 and I was 15 . At a young age you grieve the loss, and you also grieve what could have been, the moments missed like having your Dad walk you down the aisle. I learned at such a young age to never take life for granted, As time went by, I learned to cherish each memory and because it has been so very long there have been bouts of time that I honestly don’t think of him, but I will walk into a store and here a song from Glen Miller Band and it brings me back home to our living room where my Dad would be listening to Glen Miller grab my hand and twirl me around the room. It makes me smile! God has been good! Hold onto your memories for they will help you through this time spend time with family and most of all with God, I pray that God will ease your pain and give you The Peace that passes all understanding!
