Junk Shop And Auction Treasures Plus A Video

Hey Friends! I have some new treasured finds, both junk and non-junk, to share with you today. There are items from my favorite junk shop, plus a junk shop video and purchases from the auction, including a fabulous piece of Mid-Century Modern furniture!

junk shop in Hopkinsville Ky (1)

If you have been here very often, you know what this place is. Yep, the best junk shop ever! You can find it in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Mr. Butler always has a lot of windows. He has a buyer who travels from Missouri (I think) to buy them.

The furniture and windows are taking over the parking lot! I didn’t take any photos inside the shop this trip but you can watch the video.

side table from the auction

I bought the metal-and-wood table for $10. I didn’t notice at first, but there are mirrors backing the iron details on all four sides. I like that!

To paint the metal and wood, I will have to take the table apart. I’m thinking metallic silver and gold right now.

damaged wood nightstand

I paid $15 for this nightstand, and if you look closely, you can see where the left foot is missing a piece. Not sure what I’m going to do about that.

The next group of finds is from our local online auction house. The photos are courtesy of Red River Auctions.

naturally worn chair for a child

Are you not just in love with this chair?? It is perfectly, naturally shabby.

When I placed my bid on the chair, I didn’t notice the bits of blue paint. Love. The price was $14. Not bad.

silverplate

I bought a large lot of silverplate for $30. I will keep a few of the pieces and sell the rest. I have to clean up a few of them. Trying a new technique and I will let you know how it goes.

hardware

The hardware pieces were $25. I might have paid too much.

mid century modern buffet or credenza

This is the pièce de résistance (yes, I had to look up the spelling). The Mid-Century Modern Credenza was $82, including tax and buyer’s fees. I love it, and it is mine. It needs a little work, and I plan to clean it up like the fancy cedar chest I shared last month. No paint.

That’s it. What was your favorite find? Thanks for being here, Kathy

Kathy, I just love the wood and metal table. Love love the old chair, I can see it painted with a nice causation in it, it just looks so comfy. I would love to shop there but I live in Dublin Ga. just too far to go shopping. Thanks for sharing.
