I must kick off this list with my former home, Pacific Beach in San Diego, home of some of the most memorable sunsets of my life. From the cliffs to the pier to the endless parade of beautiful people around, PB (as locals call it) is breathtaking in more ways than one!

While South Beach is unmistakably the party capital of southern Florida, just a few minutes north is Surfside Beach, the hidden gem of Miami Beach. With just as much culture, music, dining, and general good vibes as South Beach - but with about half the crowds - it's a must-visit for anybody looking to experience a quintessential Miami beach.

Nestled in the middle of bustling, working-class Ocean City, Maryland, 43rd Street Beach is a calm section of shore with waves perfect for surfing and enjoying your surroundings. Boasting one of the most expansive swaths of sand in the area, this beach has everything a person could want - including a well-stocked beach bar right off the boardwalk!
4. Frisco Beach - Cape Hatteras, North Carolina

Not every beach has to have crashing waves and a party atmosphere to enjoy it. Frisco Beach is one of the calmest beaches in the United States, but that doesn't make it any less majestic. "Frisco has gradual, sloping shorelines which result in both smaller waves and waist-high waters extending many feet out into the ocean.
This allows swimmers to enjoy gentle ocean conditions while still being able to walk out well past the smaller breaking waves." That sounds picture-perfect to me!
5. Huntington State Beach - Huntington Beach, California

If surfing is more your style, look no further than Huntington State Beach, located in Orange County, California. Surrounded by jaw-dropping architecture and natural landscaping, southern California is the best place to catch a wave. If surfing isn't your thing, don't worry: you'll fall in love with Huntington based on the beach's mesmerizing beauty.
6. Folly Beach - Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston has become one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, partly because of its wonderful beach communities. Travelers around the country confess that Folly Beach is the go-to spot in Charleston, as it combines a small-town feel with some seriously amazing restaurants, bars, and nightlife. (Don't worry, the sandy shores are fantastic as well!)
7. Crash Boat Beach - Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

Although technically found outside the contiguous United States, this mystifying beach is still accessible for citizens without passports - because it's in Puerto Rico! Anybody who's visited Puerto Rico will confess some of the most fabulous beaches in the world are there, and Crash Boat Beach - I'll give you one guess where it got its name from - is a coastline with plenty of natural beauty you won't regret visiting.
8. Herring Cove Beach - Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Cape Cod is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the eastern United States - thanks in no small part to some lovely hidden beaches along the coast. Countless travelers admit that the beach has serious charm. As a bonus, Herring Cove Beach is also a great place to camp!
9. El Matador Beach - Malibu, California

While this area of greater Los Angeles is filled with memorable beaches like Venice Beach and Santa Monica, locals know the truth: El Matador Beach can't be beaten!
"Tourists think it's overrated, but El Matador is hands down my favorite beach in Malibu, especially around sunset when it's higher tide and relatively empty," says one beach lover. "Beautiful views; you'll be glad you got to see such a beautiful sunset there!" All I want from a beach is an incredible sunset.
10. Maluaka Beach - Maui, Hawaii

According to one expert, although nearly all beaches on Maui are breathtaking, Maluaka Beach stands above the rest. "Maluaka Beach has soft sand, crystal-clear water, and lava rock formations," he describes.
"If you're snorkeling, the visibility is usually good if there is no large swell." All of this adds up to an unforgettable trip to one of the best beaches in the world, let alone the United States! Source: Reddit.
