Auction Silver Plate: A Dozen Beautiful Pieces

I bought a bunch of silver plate pieces from an online auction and there are some really beautiful pieces in the bunch. I’m sharing photos and not a lot of talking! Sort and sweet.
This group of silver plate pieces was $15. Not bad although no one seems to want silver plate anymore. I don’t understand that. There are so many things you can do with the pieces and you have to admit that many of them are works of art.
Just look at the etched details on the pieces and that patina, wow.
I’m not sure what some of the pieces are and there obviously are som parts and pieces missing. I bet I can come up with some cool repurpose ideas for these.
The next group of silver plate pieces cost $7 for the lot.
The piece on the back left in this photo has some beautiful details. On several of the pieces there are places that originally held spoons for serving but they are missing.
I also bought this box which is filled with flatware, mostly silver-plated. I don’t know why they chose this box for a holder.
This is all the silverware pieces from the box.
There were some real beauties in there. I have no idea what to do with all of these pieces. Any ideas for me?
I told you it would be a short and sweet post today. As always, thanks for being here, Kathy

I absolutely love silver plate pieces, I have several. I really need to find these online auctions !! Can’t wait to see what you repurpose !
Thanks for sharing !!
You could make jewelry out of some of the silverware pieces. I’ve purchased bracelets and necklaces made out of silverware. I’ve also seen rings made with silverware.
This is what I found from Food52… Line a casserole dish or shallow vessel with aluminum foil (or obtain an aluminum dish).
Sprinkle in a generous amount of baking soda.
Add the silver pieces, being sure that each piece touches the foil.
Pour hot water on top, wait until it cools, and then remove each piece and rub clean with a rag. Sounds weird but I read about that technique in several places.
Question- how do you clean silver to get rid of the tarnish? My Son gave me a silver tray to “clean up” for his Wife. Just silver cleaner or is there a more environmentally friendly way? Thanks for your help, Love your projects Kathy!
I’ve always loved vintage silver plate items ! I couldn’t find the link for where to buy them inexpensive. I collect silver plated teapots, hand mirrors, trays, unique silverware and many other silver plated items.
WOW!! I love silver plated items…so magnificent. You scored girl!! I could not find a way to find inexpensive silver plated pieces, do I join your news letter? Thank you for sharing all of your ideas, I love them and sure appreciate all that you share. Cheers, Stacy. P.S. The piece in the back I believe is a vase, I could not see it all the way, but I would put a superb dried flower arrangement.😉💕
Wow great deal! I pick up a piece or two whenever I can find it cheap!
