It’s hump day……as the camels say.
Love week continues with a new heart project and photos of my junk finds from last week!
The burlap heart is a simple project.
I couldn’t resist adding a little rusty crusty keyhole thingy…I can’t think of the proper name right now….I bet one of you guys can.
I forgot to take photos of the project in progress.
If you read the DIY Love Letters post then you saw the wood and paint colors.
I used the lighter blue for this project.
A little Elmer’s Glue was all I needed to attach the heart and keyhole thingy to the board.
The keys are hanging from a decorative tack.
You guys can see why this is my favorite junk place.
I brought 4 of the fence panels home with me.
And the windows and bi-fold doors.
I couldn’t resist the bright colors.
If you guys get my daily post updates and Sunday Special then you’ve read this paint tip…..
Paint tip of the week
Even though paint products have improved over the past few years I still tend to use a primer when using latex paint. It might be overkill but if the piece is for a client I want it to be right. I also buy the all-in-one paints that include the primer. But I still prime.
My favorite primer is Glidden Gripper. I’m not saying other primers aren’t just as good but I favor this one.
The tip relates to color of the primer. I always have my primer tinted gray. Gray works great under any top coat color. It’s very easy to cover. White to me is harder to cover.
I try to share a paint tip in the Sunday email along with interesting things from the web. I don’t repeat links to my blog posts from the prior week.
