Inside The House Projects For When The Weather Is Frightful

Yep, it’s cold plus we have snow on the ground. What to do when the weather is frightful? I have some DIY and crafty ideas for you…..small projects and bigger projects like painting a bedroom!

plastic apples from the thrift store to glitter

Also the Thrift Store Decor Team has put together a roundup of our favorite indoor projects that include everything from whole room decor makeovers to simple projects like adding decals to thrift store finds.

Let’s take a look at how I glittered up some plastic apples ( $2.00 at the thrift store) and ceramic lemons then I have a whole bunch of projects for you to try when it’s colder than a Witch’s …….well, you know what I mean.

ready to glitter lemons and apples

The supplies for the project include white glue from the Dollar Tree and sparkly glitter from Michaels. I bought the kind of glitter that looks like sugar!

First thing I did was remove the plastic sticks from the apples. I started clipping them off with the wire cutters then figured out I could just pull the sticks out. I put all my supplies in a cardboard box so I could contain the glitter. I poured a bit of the glue onto a plastic lid.

Then I brushed the glue all over the apple. Next I shook the glitter from the container and sprinkled the apple all over with glitter. I had some ceramic lemons in my junk stash and they got a coating of glitter too.

And that’s all there was to this project you can make indoors where it’s cool. They look great displayed on one of my glass cake stands. A little bit of faux greenery gives more texture to the display.

My favorite inside the house project was when we painted and totally redecorated our bedrooms. The first bedroom we painted an redecorated was the back guest bedroom. The room had been painted a deep royal blue by our son who was 16 at the time and he picked out the color. We re-painted it a nice calming white.
