$5 Auction Furniture And More Furniture Deals

I got some good deals from the auction over the weekend. Let’s take a look…..
This piece was $5. I don’t know what to call it, maybe a foyer chest. It measures 36 inches across, which isn’t small, but it isn’t large enough to hold a tv. I like the flat look of the doors, and have some decoupage paper that would look great on this piece. We will see.
The French Provincial chest of drawers was $45, and that was a steal. I mean, the drawer pulls, and hardware is worth more than that. The piece is in excellent condition except for the really yellow finish. It isn’t noticeable in this photo taken at the auction.
But in this photo taken at home, you can see the yellowing. I will be painting the chest, but I haven’t decided on a color.
You guys know I have a thing for cedar chest and this one was only $15. Too good a deal to pass up.
The tray inside was a mess. The bottom is completely gone so I will probably remove the tray and all of it’s hardware.
I have painted over 20 cedar chests in the past few years and I am looking for a different paint color and finish for this chest. I found a paint project I liked on Pinterest and followed it to the blog.
Patricia, The Black Sheep Shoppe, painted this piece. I don’t know why it caught my attention. Maybe the pale blue and the light distressing with the white paint details. I like it!
That is all the furniture. I bought these ice skates for $8 and they may show up in a Winter/Christmas display or wreath.
I bought a pair of bowling balls, bags, and shoes for $2. I plan to paint the bowling balls in some way. I’ve seen them made into “gazing balls” for the garden.
