The Nashville Flea Market 2021 information update.
The market is a great place to find just about anything and should top your list of things to do in Nashville! Unfortunately the Nashville Flea Market remains closed at least through May 2021. Continue reading this post for market information including; shopping trip photos from the new location, vendor information, location, new market layout, and cool things found at the market!
I shop the Nashville Flea Market as often as I can. It is a junker’s paradise and a great place to find new things too like, purses, jewelry, plants, etc.
The Nashville Flea Market
I’ve been going to the Nashville Flea Market for longer than I can remember. It’s a happening place! The shopping is endless and you can find just about anything your little homemaking heart desires at the market.
The vendors are friendly and helpful. Heck, some of them are like family now. I usually shop the same vendors every month because I’ve learned over the years which vendors have the good junk. And that’s what I shop for, things to upcycle.
A few of the vendors I met years ago have left the market for one reason or another and I miss them so I make it a point to stop and talk to as many vendors as I can on my shopping trips.

The dates, hours, a Google map, and directions are at the end of this post. In between I have some favorite photos from the market and other info you might want to know!
The Vendors
Debbie paints furniture and she rocks it. Jimbo creates metal yard art. The big guy in the middle was promoting haunted houses in the Nashville area in October.
Eric and Caleb live in Clarksville where I’m from and they have a shop called Oddly Amazing Antiques….and they do have some odd stuff. You can find them at the flea market every month.
The Butler’s pictured above sometimes set up at the market. Lately they are more focused on their shop in Hopkinsville, Ky, my favorite junk shop.
Jimbo of Bradley Metal Works is always fun to talk to. He has a great attitude and is lawn/garden ornaments are works of art.
Nashville Flea Market Location 2021
The Nashville Flea Market is located at The Fairgrounds Nashville, 625 Smith Ave.
The flea market area consists of several large buildings, a bunch of open sheds, and a lot of paved outdoor space. Vendors are set up in all of these areas. There are food and drink vendors too. We don’t want to forget them.
Outdoor Booth Spaces at The Fairgrounds Nashville
Some vendors set up tents and other are just out in the open. If the weather is bad, shopping outside is not good. I have only known the market to close for the weekend one time….and that was January of this year.
Nashville had a blanket of snow and ice. For the safety of the vendors and customers the market closed for the month of January 2016.
Several vendors are talented painters. The furniture piece above is one of my favorites. A lot of work went into this piece. You can also find vintage furniture in perfect condition or furniture that needs refinishing or painting.
This is one of the enclosed sheds and the vendors here sell everything from personal products… to large rugs/carpets… to antiques.
Most of the fine antiques are in the buildings. Also in the buildings of the market you can find fine jewelry vendors and dealers selling gold and silver coins.
If you like fresh canned jam and jellies, fried pork skins, fresh baked bread……this is the place for you. Remember to put the flea market on your list of things to do in Nashville!
are vendors who will frame a print, vendors who monogram just about anything, and vendors who sell herbal supplements.
Unique Vendor Trailers
How about that for a business name. The name does say it all. I usually shop the vendors set up in the open areas outside and under the sheds. I find furniture to paint and junky, rusty stuff.
Since I’ve shopped the market for many years, I know which vendors are most likely to have what I’m looking for and also who has the best prices.
Most of the vendors will negotiate prices but please don’t embarrass yourself or them by making a low ball offer. They are trying to make a living just like we are.
Handmade And New
The prices are reasonable enough that I can buy things, remake or reinvent them, and sell them at my booth for a profit.
Things found at The Nashville Flea Market:
antiques, vintage furniture, new furniture, rusty junk, architectural findings, vintage advertising signs, reclaimed doors and windows, new clothes, new shoes, sunglasses, plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables, handcrafted items of all kinds……
…..food, vitamin supplements, handbags, new and vintage jewelry, gold and silver coins, custom embroidery, custom lawn games, metal yard art….etc., etc., etc..
Just look at all those goodies. From this single vendor there is everything from vintage screen doors to metal olive buckets to new metal items from Mexico.

The crowds come every day of the market, shopping inside and out. If it rains some of the vendors leave early or cover everything up and wait out the rain. You might get a better deal on Sunday because the vendors won’t have as much stuff to pack up and haul home.
New Fairgrounds Location
The flea market opened in its new location in September 2019 at The Fairgrounds Nashville. The flea market was in it’s old location for 50 years.
The new location is down the hill from the old exhibit buildings, entry is from Wedgewood Avenue and from the Bransford/Benton Avenue side of the property.
The new space has three brick-and-metal air-conditioned buildings and a total of 130,000 square feet. There are two large sheds, space for vendors in the show arena and outdoor booth spaces under canopies.
There are additional areas on the perimeter of the property for vendors to set up their own tents.
I made a quick shopping trip to the new location and the following photos are from that shopping trip. Enjoy!
I walked through the whole market so I could get a feel for where everything was located. I found some of the vendors I usually shop and visit with and others I missed. I don’t know if they weren’t there this month or if I just missed them.
Anyway, I’m taking you guys on a walking tour of the flea market. I took a bunch of photos.
We had to park quit a ways from the main gate. In this photo you can see the market ahead of us. We had already walked at least twice this distance. I spotted a small van shuttle but we didn’t hop on it.
There are three large buildings all connected together. You can see the large outdoor area in front of the buildings. I don’t know what the plans are there unless it is just open for special events or displays.
There were a few booths lining the walkway inside the main gate and I spotted these colorful baskets. I’m not sure what they are called. Maybe one of you can help me.
I also spotted this booth a reader emailed me about. She was interested in the name of the vendor who had the She Shed signs. I was able to get the info for her and if anyone else is interested in metal signs this is the website…..The Global Swap Shop.
I also spotted these snowshoes in the booth. I didn’t even ask the price. I bought a pair of snowshoes when we lived in Florida and I decorated with them for a couple of years.
There are two large open sheds a the market and a lot of large closed off streets that makes getting around easy. Some vendors are also set up out in the open with or without canopys.
This was the sweetest nativity scene. This month is a weird one for seasonal décor because there was Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decorations. Mostly Christmas stuff.
I spotted this piece in Debbie’s booth. She bought it from another vendor and will give it a new paint job. It’s hard to tell in this photo but it’s a bit beat up.
I was going to go back and buy several of the tree looking post finials but I forgot! They were $1 each which wasn’t bad.
I walk through this vendors booth every shopping trip. Never know what I might find. Nothing this trip.
Vendor booths in one of the open sheds.
A toy car collectors dream.
Those brackets are perfectly chippy.
I often wonder the history behind some of the pieces at the market.
All kinds of goodies in this booth. but my favorite is below.
The Fire Chief car has everything going for it as far as I’m concerned…..red, metal, and rusty. I think I’ll start calling this the RMR factor.
Nicely painted white buffet but nothing to write home about. It need some distressing or something else.
They always have Cowboy boots at the Nashville Flea Market.
This booth had several nice Christmas vignettes.
Love those little trees.
That was a very nice desk. I did notice there was an obvious lack of furniture this month.
I liked this piece. It looks handmade. They always get me with the wire baskets.
Not sure if all the open areas are just that…..or if they are vendor spaces not rented out.
There were several food vendors in the outside common areas. I noticed a Fried Green Tomato trailer. Hubby loves fried green tomatoes but I’m not a fan.
I found Dead People’s Things, one of my favorite vendors.
Going inside the Expo Buildings now. I don’t think they are really calling this a new location since the market is just across the street from where it was. They refer to the new Expo buildings….so I will too.
Everything is fresh and bright and I noticed a lot of bathrooms. No worries there.
The colors in these reproduction posters was really nice.
This guy makes kitchen islands and they sure are pretty. The photo doesn’t do them justice. All kinds of colors and styles to chose from.
I stopped by the Rada booth and bought some more knives. These are the best.
Cute scarves and toboggans.
The indoor café is inside one of the buildings and I’m assuming it is the same food and service as at the last location. The food is good and they have quite a variety.
Lots of room to walk around.
Maybe you’ve been to the new Expo buildings? Tell me what you think about the market if you’ve been since the move.

Thanks for sharing. I wanted to go this when passing through on my way home from a trip to Vermont. My visit will need to wait until a visit to TN instead of the entire east coast. I will visit. I love flea markets since my favorite one is in Canton, TX, just 20 minutes from my home. I prefer the smaller size. I do have a question. Do they negotiate during the market or just toward the end of the last day? Thanks again for the information.
Kathy Owen says
Most vendors will negotiate during the market. It’s true you will probably get the very best price on the last day….but then some of the best goodies may be gone!
