The Nashville Flea Market originally opened in 1969. It is the biggest flea market in Nashville. Approximately 800 to 1200 vendors from more than 30 states sell their goods at the market. It has been voted the number one flea market in Tennessee by the Busy Bee Trader and The Tennessee Magazine. The market was closed for 14 months due to Covid.

The flea market is a must-see if you live in Nashville or the surrounding area or if you are visiting Nashville. One of the missions of the market is to offer the community an alternative to the traditional, big-box shopping experience.

What is the Schedule With Dates and Times for The Nashville Flea Market?

The flea market is normally open the fourth weekend of the month on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, except for November and December, when the market is open the weekend before the holidays. But always check the schedule for date changes. The times are Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The parking fee for the flea market was raised from $5 to $10 in July of 2023. Vehicles with disability license plates or placards park for free.

There is no charge for the flea market, but as mentioned earlier, parking is $10. Payment methods for goods may vary from vendor to vendor, so be prepared with your PayPal, Venmo, etc., information. Cash always works.

Can I bring my pet?

The Flea Market does not allow pets, but service animals are welcome. You may be reported if you leave your pet in your vehicle.

Is There a Place to Eat at the Flea Market?

Several food trucks set up at the market that serve everything from fried green tomatos to funnel cakes. A cafeteria in the new flea market building has a variety of foods on the menu. I can speak from personal experience when I say the food is good!

How Should I Dress for Shopping at the Market?

Dress casually for the market and wear comfortable walking shoes. Depending on parking you may have to walk quite a distance to get to the market and then there are all those buildings and sheds to shop through!

The Summers in Tennessee are hot so wear lightweight clothing. In the winter dress in layers because it can be quite cold in the outdoor shopping spaces. The flea market buildings are large and climate controlled.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes, you can bring drinks and snacks to the market. In fact I would suggest at least bringing bottled water.

Are There Places to Sit and Rest?

There are benches inside and out where you can sit and rest or just people watch!

What If I Can’t Carry my Purchases to My Vehicle?

There are many large items for sale at the market. If you buy a large piece or several small items that you cannot carry to your vehicle the vendor will give you a pass so you can bring your vehicle in to pick up your purchases. There is a designated gate for that.

Are Vendors Negotiable on Prices?

Some vendors are negotiable on their items especially the vendors selling used items. You can always ask for a discount but don’t be put off if your offer is refused. The vendors have cost in their stock plus they pay a fee to have a booth at the market. Vendors that sell handmade items and specialty foods usually have a fixed price on their products.

The variety of things available at the Nashville Flea Market is unbelievable. You can find, vintage items, antique furniture, new home decor, handmade items, Avon and Tupperware products, new socks, vintage and new jewelry, collectibles, coins, homemade foods, fruits and vegetables, flowering plants, and much more.

The month of October at the flea market is known as “The Big One”. There are usually a lot of Christmas items at the market, and the weather in October is usually perfect for shopping the outdoor vendors. Another big month is March, when the weather begins to warm up.

The new buildings, sidewalks, and restrooms have been designed to be ADA-compliant for wheelchair and disability access.
