Antique Trunk Makeover
Today is themed furniture day.
I know some of you look forward to the once a month tour.
This month’s theme is “rustic”.
That’s pretty wide open.
I painted this antique trunk.
I know I’m going to be in trouble from some of you guys. I googled the trunk and the style was popular in the late 1800’s.
The trunk was in our bedroom and I moved it out when I was decluttering. I bought it several years ago and use it to store fabrics for my projects. It’s in pretty rough shape. Some of the metal is broken off and there are rough edges. The latch doesn’t close…and other problems.
I decided to lighten up the color. I started painting and changed plans several times mid-way through the project. I will share the whole makeover with photos and the tutorial maybe next week.
Here is the trunk at the end of the bed in our spare bedroom.
I like the look but not sure I like it better than the original.
What do you guys think…you can be honest….talk to me.
