    Rain Boot Flower Display

Welcome to Thrift Store Decor day. This month's project isn't really a makeover….it’s more of a re-purpose project. A really cute project. I’m a sucker for cute rain boots.

I found the rain boots at my local Goodwill store. I thought I wanted to use them as planters…meaning fill with potting soil, cut a drain hole in the bottom of the boots, and add flowers. I tried the boots on when I got home and guess what? They fit me perfectly. They're in great shape and just the cutest so these boots are going to be multi-purpose.

I selected a batch of flowers from my stash and plunked them in the boot. They were almost hidden so I stuffed some bubble wrap in the bottom of the boot and stuck the flowers back in. The rain boot flower display is sitting on my favorite $5 reclaimed bench on the front porch.

Another ideas is to sit a small vase inside the boots and add fresh cut flowers.

The display will be on my front porch until I make it to the garden store. I hope to gussy up the porch with ferns and rusty décor! My usual fair.

I like the idea of putting a small vase in the boot for cut flowers.

Such a cute idea, Kathy. I've got a pair that my girls have outgrown and I guess I need to hang on to them for something like this!

Love this idea so cute. I have been using a pair of my late husband's old work boots as planters for a few years now and have received a lot of comments about them, especially when I explain the story behind them. However, with yearly use, the earth has started to break the boots down. Now I think I have the replacement for them, thanks.

Aww how cute! There is going to be a run on rain boots at the thrift store! The rain boots would make a darling centerpiece on a picnic table 🙂 Love it!! Thanks, Kathy
