I love putting together Dollar Tree Christmas gift mugs to give to caregivers, nursing home residents, teachers, friends, and holiday visitors. The mugs aren’t always mugs. Glasses, bowls, plastic cups, and more can be filled with all kinds of goodies

Take these ideas and make personalized gifts for friends and loved ones with inexpensive yet fun items that will make your recipient feel special.

Dollar Tree bags

Shopping may be more fun than putting the gift sets together. I try to have a plan when I go into the store, but you know how plans go. I sometimes get carried away.

Dollar Tree items to make gift mugs and bags

My plan was to make mug or bowl gift sets with manicure items, special chocolate foods, and pamper-yourself items. I ended up just buying what caught my eye, and now it’s time to put a gift glass together.

The little Christmas gift glass was on one of the displays in the front of the store, so I picked it up and decided to make it my manicure glass gift set.

The first thing I did was add a little shredded paper to the glass. I forgot to get paper on this shopping trip, but I had plenty left over from my last Dollar Tree gift-making episode.

Then I started filling the glass with the little gifts. You should always put the taller items in the back and build forward or up. The nail files were the first thing to go in the glass.

Then, I added the nail polish, decorative paint polish, and candy! To finish off the gift glass, I wrapped it in clear cellophane paper, also from Dollar Tree.

You may have to work with the cellophane a bit to make it look all nice and neat. Once it looks good, tie it up at the top with some curly ribbon.

When you are selecting items for your gift mugs or baskets, remember to color-coordinate your items!

Next up is the gift-filled bowl. This one is for the coffee and chocolate lover. It contains a bag of chocolate cookie mix, coffee, a candle, a red pot holder, and several pieces of chocolate candy. The Christmas bowl can hold the cookies….once the gift recipient bakes them!

This gift is great for a Mom who wants to refresh her face with a face mask, enjoy the scent of a candle, and jot down notes on family happenings.

Do you see the set of green plastic glasses in the middle of all the Dollar Tree bounty? It contains 10 glasses and costs $1.25.

Fill the cute glasses with goodies for neighbor kids, nursing home residents, your Amazon delivery guy or gal, or whoever. You don’t have to wrap them up, but if you want, you could slip them into a clear Christmas goodie bag.

The larger gift-filled containers consisted of 5 or 6 items, including the “container,” meaning that even at $1.25 for each item, the filled gift “mugs” cost less than $8. The small gift-filled green plastic glasses cost from $1 to $1.50 each to make. How can you beat that?
