All the information, including shopping trip photos from the new location, vendor information, dates and times, and cool things found at the market, is right here. I also have an article that answers your frequently asked questions.

The 2024 Nashville Flea Market will be open for three days on the fourth weekend of the month and will open on Friday at 8:00 a.m. Because of the holidays, the market will be open the third weekend of November and December. One major change made earlier in 2023 is the parking price. Parking for the Nashville Flea Market is now $10.

Shopping The Nashville Flea Market 2024

I’ve been going to the Nashville Flea Market longer than I remember. It is a junker’s paradise and a great place to find new things, like purses, jewelry, plants, etc.

The shopping is endless, and you can find almost anything your heart desires at the market. The vendors are friendly and helpful. Heck, some of them are like family now.

I usually shop the same vendors monthly because I’ve learned over the years which vendors have the good junk. And that’s what I shop for, things to upcycle.

A few of the vendors I met years ago have left the market for one reason or another, and I miss them, so I make it a point to stop and talk to as many vendors as possible on my shopping trips.

The most popular market months are September-November and March-May. If there isn’t a full vendor lineup, one or more open sheds may not have booths.

Outdoor Booths at The Nashville Flea Market

Some vendors set up tents, and others are just out in the open. If the weather is bad, shopping outside is not good.

I have only known the market to close for the weekend one time….and that was January of 2016. Nashville had a blanket of snow and ice. For the safety of the vendors and customers, the market closed for the month of January 2016.

Painted Furniture

Several vendors are talented painters. The furniture piece above is one of my favorites. A lot of work went into this piece. You can also find vintage furniture in perfect condition or furniture that needs refinishing or painting.

If you like fresh, canned jam and jellies, fried pork skins, and freshly baked bread……this is the place for you. Some vendors will frame a print, other vendors will monogram just about anything, and many vendors who sell herbal supplements. Most of the fine antiques are inside the buildings. You can also find fine jewelry vendors and dealers selling gold and silver coins.

Unique Vendor Trailers

Dead People's Things

How about that for a business name? The name does say it all. I usually shop the vendors set up in the open areas outside and under the sheds. I find furniture to paint and junky, rusty stuff.

Nashville Flea Market Dates 2020

Since I’ve shopped in the market for many years, I know which vendors are most likely to have what I’m looking for and also who has the best prices. Most of the vendors will negotiate prices, but please don’t embarrass yourself or them by making a lowball offer. They are trying to make a living just like we are. The prices are reasonable enough to buy things, remake or reinvent them, and sell them at my booth for a profit.

The crowds come every day to the market, shopping inside and out. If it rains, some of the vendors leave early or cover everything up and wait out the rain. You might get a better deal on Sunday because the vendors won’t have as much stuff to pack up and haul home.

Things found at The Nashville Flea Market:

Antiques, vintage furniture, new furniture, rusty junk, architectural findings, vintage advertising signs, reclaimed doors and windows, new clothes, new shoes, sunglasses, plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables, handcrafted items of all kinds……

Just look at all those goodies. From this single vendor, there is everything from vintage screen doors to metal olive buckets to new metal items from Mexico.

The Flea Market Moved – New Nashville Fairgrounds Location

The flea market opened in its new location at The Fairgrounds Nashville. The new location is down the hill from the old exhibit buildings, and the entry is from Wedgewood Avenue and the Bransford/Benton Avenue side of the property.

The new space has three brick-and-metal air-conditioned buildings and a  total of 130,000 square feet. There are two large sheds, space for vendors in the show arena, and outdoor booth spaces under canopies. Additional areas on the property’s perimeter exist for vendors to set up their tents.

A few photos I took at the market location…

There are two large open sheds at the market and many closed-off streets that make getting around easy. Some vendors are also set up out in the open with or without canopies. I found Dead People’s Things, one of my favorite vendors.

Going inside the Expo Buildings now. I don’t think they are really calling this a new location since the market is just across the street from where it was. They refer to the new Expo buildings….so I will too. Everything is fresh and bright, and I noticed there are plenty of bathrooms. No worries there. I stopped by the Rada booth and bought some more knives. These are the best.

Food At The Market

There were several food vendors in the outside common areas. I noticed a Fried Green Tomato trailer. Hubby loves fried green tomatoes, but I’m not a fan.

The indoor café is inside one of the buildings, and I assume it is the same food and service as at the last location. The food is good, and they have quite a variety of dishes.

Have you been to the new Expo buildings? If so, tell me your thoughts about the market since the move.

  1. I’m not sure. I can ask around the next time I’m at the market.

  2. In early 2000 a older guy(Ken) was selling collectable not vintage/antique cast iron character banks, and other older theme type relics!
Since its been a long while back, would you know if he’s still a vendor?
