Hey…it’s Monday and I have a painted furniture project for you …woohoo!

We don’t have to buy new children’s bedroom furniture as our children grow up…just make it over…save a little money.

This is the piece before.

A client wanted to update this chest of drawers.

Her son has outgrown the look.

It’s cute if you’re 2….or live in Maine

I say Maine because when I look at this piece L.L. Bean comes to mind.

When the JTS retired from the Army we went on a two week vacation and drove up North. We drove as far as Portland, Maine.

It was a great trip.

Anyway, we visited the L. L. Bean store in Maine and this chest says L. L. Bean to me.

We finally figured out how to get the drawers out …..after doing a lot of unnecessary work.

drawer stops Petticoat Junktion

Has anyone ever seen drawer runners with stops like these?

Me neither.

After banging these things out with a nail punch and hammer we realized if you slide the drawer to a certain place on the runner….it lifts right out…huh….who knew.

I can guarantee you never have to worry about the drawers being pulled all the way out accidentally.

The color is Behr ‘’”Peaceful Night”.

I found some wood knobs in my stash of junk hardware and spray painted them with Rustoleum in “Espresso”

What a difference.

Doesn’t look like the same piece of furniture.
