I thought I would catch you guys up on what’s been happening in the workshop and also show you my latest junk buys and vintage finds.
I’m painting things and have a few project completed. I just need to write the posts.
I spotted this vanity chair at a local shop where I have a booth. Its in really good condition. No rips or tears in the black vinyl. That vinyl is so shiny! The metal is perfectly aged and pitted.
The chair was $15 but well worth it. I’m going to pair it with the vanity you’ll see later in this post.
How about that cute clock. A Goodwill buy for $1.99. The faucet is broke off but the clock works. I thought it was probably vintage and hard to find but there are all kinds of them for sell online.
I still like it for $2 and I’m going to touch up the paint and hang it in the bathroom.
The basket is not really my style. I bought it to resell. It is kind of cool.
Never heard of the Floraline company and I checked them out. I found out the basket is made by McCoy, who I have definitely heard of, and the line of products was made for florists.
I found one basket that sold recently on eBay for $29.00 plus $8 shipping so I didn’t do too bad on my $2.99 purchase.
I bought the vanity at my favorite junk shop for $25. I have the makeover completed and hope to share it soon.
The tourist souvenir plates were $1 for the set. No one at the auction would bid on them so I did. I’m keeping the one in the middle with the pretty orange colors and selling the others.
The rattan and wood silverware tray is from World Market and I got it for $2.
I really like the round metal tray I bought for $10 at a local flea market. I’m thinking of hanging it on the wall in the brown bedroom.
I bought the two antique light fixtures for $13. I love the one with the painted flowers. Looking for project ideas.
The large white and gold frame with glass was $3.98. I remember these vintage frames from my childhood.
The small lamp shades were 99 cents each and I don’t have any lamps to put them on. You guys know I love the green.
I got the two bags of plastic pumpkins on the cheap and will do something with them….paint, decoupage, whatever.
I got the large piano bench at an auction for $20. Not a deal but okay. I’m painting it to replace the small piano bench I painted and recovered for the brown bedroom.
The postal station toy was a splurge. I paid $20 for it because I love the green! Will probably use it in some kind of decor in the house for a while then sell it.
I got the wood tray at the Goodwill for $4.
I’m working on it but not sure I like the new look.
I’m working on this buffet too. It’s painted but I’ll be doing a special paint technique on it so stay tuned.
I got the metal cabinet at my favorite junk shop for $35 and it’s in our shop now. The JTS has filled it with all kinds of shop supplies.
The frames were $1 each at Goodwill. The large wood frame is really nice. I plan on something Halloween for the silver plated frame.
I also got the four window frames minus glass at the junk shop. I sell them in my booth. I used to decorate them but don’t have any new ideas. Maybe you do?
That’s it for me. Did you see something you liked or have any project ideas for me? Which of my vintage finds did you like the best? As always thanks for being here and have a great day, Kathy
