Upcycle your old decor or thrift store finds with Summer in mind. Add pops of color, floral designs, and airy fabrics throughout your home.
It's important to change the decor in your home with the seasons. I think this is especially true for Summer. Make your decor simple and fresh. A unique take on wreath decor. Decorate a simple Dollar Tree wreath and hang it from a ribbon. Painting a cardboard drink tote to use as a picnic caddy or utensil organizer is a great repurpose idea. Tulips are associated with Spring but can be used in Summer decor. Add metal pieces to the wreath for added drama. Stenciling is my favorite go-to for adding design to my decor. I can't freehand paint and I'm not an artist but stenciling is easy if you just know the proper technique. This project takes a little more time and work but it is a one-of-a-kind look. Get your craft on with one or more of these sisal projects that just scream Summer! Pink flamingos make me smile and I use them sparingly in my decor. This is another stencil project. Yellow makes me smile, too. I mention smiling a lot because your home should make you happy. Dry brush white paint onto old frames, neutral color baskets, and more to give your decor a shabby chic look that says Summer. You have to admit this coffee can looks fabulous. Repurpose things instead of tossing them out. Gather old parts and pieces from your garage, workshop, or junk drawer and make something unique.
