DIY Holiday Hostess Gifts That Will Get You Invited Back!
Today, we’re talking about DIY holiday hostess gifts. I always take a gift to the hostess when invited to a dinner, a party, or any type of gathering. Since we will be celebrating the holidays for the next few weeks, the Thrift Store Decor Team is sharing hostess gift ideas that fit the season.
Cookie or Candy Stand
Usually, the hostess goes to great lengths to prepare food and entertainment for her (or his) guests. Taking them a small gift is a really nice thank you. Making them a gift is even better.
The cookie stand or “whatever” stand can be customized with your hostess in mind, using her favorite colors or even using a similar piece to her dinnerware.
DIY Magnets
The little blue angel magnets are vintage gift tags that I turned into magnets. DIY magnets are easy to craft, and you can use almost any small item to make a magnet. I’ve used vintage earrings, seashells, mini pom poms, and things I found in my junk drawer. Tell me someone who doesn’t have at least one magnet in their home!
Bling Bottles
What I call my “Bling Bottles” are cute gifts for anyone. You could customize the small green bottles with miniature ornament garland or red bling for Christmas or orange bling for Thanksgiving.
Coasters
I stenciled these wood coasters a few Summers ago and I made confetti tile coasters for party time. They would be the perfect hostess gift.
Candy In A Mug
If you aren’t into making a gift you can easily put together a mug with candy inside. Select a candy you know your hostess likes and fill the cup or Moscow Mule with the candy, a bit of paper filler, and cellophane and ribbon for the wrap.
I made these Moscow Mule mug gifts for my neighbors two years ago. I found the mugs at Goodwill, if you can believe that. You could also use plain mugs from Dollar Tree and fill them with Dollar Tree items like I did here.
Homemade Chocolate Candy
Who doesn’t love chocolate? These chocolate-covered caramel pecan turtles are yummy. My special twist on the recipe is adding a little sea salt to the top—recipe for homemade chocolate candy.
Snow Scene Decorations
