I Bought Some More Junk

Hey Guys! I made two trips to the junk shop this month and haven’t shared either one. I bought a few goodies and also have photos of things in the shop.

I bought the small square dining table. Mr. Butler unscrewed the legs for travel. I bought the table around the first of the month but it’s still legless in the workshop. I need at least two small chairs to go with the table but I haven’t had any luck there.

The table with the cool colored metal pieces on the sides was available but I passed. It isn’t something I would paint and it wasn’t in prime condition as is.

A truckload of chairs but none I wanted for the table.

This set of six isn’t really the style I was looking for. They are a little dated even when painted.

A look down the back dock of my favorite junk shop.

I passed on the little piano bench. I don’t have much luck selling them.

This rooster was cute and colorful.

I’ve never seen a Mr. And Mrs. Claus exactly like these. I wasn’t sure how I felt about them. I did leave them at the shop.

I bought the glass or crystal door knobs. Don’t know what to do with them Any ideas for me?

I loved the little angel votive so I brought it home.

This piece had too much going on.

There are always boxes and boxes of old furniture hardware at the shop.

I bought the little sad Christmas house but didn’t do anything with it this year. I was planning to spray paint it white and the sparkle it with the glitter like I did the Gingerbread box from Dollar Tree.

You guys know how I love green and you probably saw this piece on my Christmas mantel this year.

This Santa was just a piece of paper and I wanted to make a project with him also but time just got away from me.

This angel trio is so cute and I should have bought them. If they are still there on my next trip I will.

I also bought several cherub decorations.

I love the gold tones of the cherubs.

I took them to my booth to sell but I think most of them are still there. That means I will be decorating with them next year. That’s okay. I love them. That’s it for my haul. Did you have a favorite? Thanks for being here, Kathy

  1. Happy New Year! When I find vintage Santa prints I frame them and either keep them or gift them. The glass door knobs look great in a large clear glass container. My brother in law restores old homes. Over the years he’s collected many. That’s how he displays them. Very beautiful decoration. Your cherubs will sell for Valentine’s Day. Can be used on Wreaths. Take care.

  2. Kathy, my definite favorites of your purchases are the little green pitcher and the small Christmas house. I have a thing for miniature houses. And the shade of green of the pitcher is beautiful and so Christmasy. The cherubs, not so much my style but I’ll be interested to see what you do with them. Thanks for sharing; can’t wait to see the second haul!

  3. The door knobs can be used as a butterknife rest. Each person dining would need one. It keeps tablecloths from being stained.

  4. I think the coat rack idea is the way to go with the glass knobs. I would use it to hang my jacket and dog leashes on.
The beautiful glass container with the fancy stopper I would fill with colored water. If your room is mainly blues you could use food coloring to make blue water and then change it out at Christmas to put in bright red or green water and move it to a buffet or somewhere during the holidays. It would look great on a silver tray surrounded by greenery with red berries. Ok I just convinced myself to get my junk loving sister to be on the lookout for some fancy glass container with a lid like that one:)

  5. Besides using the glass door knobs in a coat rack, I’ve used them at the end of a rod that I installed on an old footboard to hang scarves. The rod came from the bed as well, or a different bed, I can’t remember! I drilled holes in the end of the rod that fit a dowel that fit the door knobs, mine are brass.
