These white furniture makeovers are just what you need today. Trust me. I have two words for white paint…..Classy and Calming.
Today is the Furniture Fixer Upper Tour and we are showcasing our favorite furniture makeovers. I have a couple of my projects then one from each of the team to showcase and they are all painted beautifully in white.
I’m starting with this all white, no distressed dresser I painted a few months ago.
This is one of those furniture projects that has me smiling. The simple sophisticated white dresser is a showstopper. The special addition to the makeover that took it to another level is the ceramic rose knobs. I tried adding a girly swirly wood applique and that was overkill.
This chest of drawers was an auction buy. I was in Arkansas at the time of the auction but I was able to bid online and I was the winning bidder. Yeah! I bid on several pieces but was outbid on all but 2.
The first thing I had to do was pop off that little wood oak leaf applique. It just wasn’t my style. Actually the JTS took it off for me. Then I had a whole bunch more repairs to make.
After all of the repairs I started this white makeover with Glidden Gripper Primer. My favorite primer. If you want to see the entire dresser makeover including the repairs and what paint I chose for the makeover click here…..Sophisticated White Dresser.
Now we get a look at my favorite white painted furniture from my team mates…..
I am in awe of this makeover by Denise, Salvaged Inspirations.
The white china cabinet with the natural finish legs and feet is too magnificent for words. The contrast of wood stain and white paint is hard to beat. You can find this makeover here……How to Paint Furniture White.
Next up is this all wood vintage wardrobe from Christy, Confessions of a Serial DIYer. Christy replaced the glass door in the wardrobe then stenciled the pretty design on the wood door. But, what she did inside the door……well, you just have to see it. Check out her project here….Antique Cabinet Makeover.
If you want to go all girly is there anything prettier than French Provincial Furniture? Not in my book. Jen, Girl in the Garage, painted the French Provincial Desk white but she didn’t stop there with the makeover. Just check out her drawers, lol. See the makeover here…..French Provincial Desk Makeover.
One more of my white makeovers before we head out on the tour to see what the other girls picked to showcase today.
Just so you know I love distressing paint. I could have distressed the dresser with the white rose knobs but it didn’t need it. The rose knobs added just the right touch.
On the dresser above it needed something to add a bit of character and distressing the paint did the trick. Check out the distressed dresser here……Simple Beauty of White Distressed Paint.

Love these makeovers! And that first dresser is pretty unusual for you without any distressing… LOL. Thanks so much for including my French Provincial vanity/desk and wishing you a very Merry Christmas! xo
Beautiful work
Fantastic redo’s! Love them all but my fave has to be the hutch with the white top and stained legs. I would have never thought to do that but it’s seriously gorgeous! Hope to find a piece similar so I can do that. Pinned!
Yay! A whole post dedicated to my favorite color to paint furniture AND it’s non-Christmas, to boot! These are lovely.
Is Gripper shellac or water based? I had to switch to shellac after 2 of my white pieces showed bleed-thru after using water-based primer (2 coats!)
Classy and calming for sure! I love your makeovers, Kathy. The way you styled the first dresser with the milk glass, flowers, and cute little poodles, gorgeous. Thanks for including me in your beautiful round-up my friend. Pinned. 🙂
You know I’m a huge fan of white painted furniture! Thank you for including one of mine too! I love yours with those sweet rose knobs! XOXO
