For months now I’ve been seeing a lot of cool projects created using the Silhouette Cameo.

So I ordered one for me!

I know I ordered it on March 6 because that’s what the packing slip said.

Here’s the box it arrived in and I’m pretty sure it arrived just a few days after March 6 because is really fast.

Silhouette Cameo

I unpacked it on June 2nd.

Silhouette Cameo

Look at all this stuff.

I knew this would happen.

Now I have to figure out how to use all of it.

Silhouette Cameo

What a mess.

All because of one little package.

Silhouette Cameo

I put the Silhouette on the bar in the kitchen and hooked it to my laptop just to get everything set-up.

I’m not sure where it will reside permanently, but it want be on the bar.

I got everything hooked up and the software installed without a hitch!

Now what Smile

There are a couple of projects I’m thinking of trying.

I have some inspiration photos.

The first project is by Amy of Atta Girl Says.

I don’t know what draws me to this little stool, I just love it.

Could be because it’s green!

Amy cut the Sinclair dragon stencil with the Silhouette.

And the second project is by Jen of Tatertots and Jello.

Don’t these colorful buoys just make you smile.

They do me Smile

Jen used the Silhouette to cut stencils for the numbers.

I think some buoys would look great with my Nautical Style Chest.

Now if I could just get Amy and Jen to come to my house Winking smile

Do any of you have a Silhouette and if so what is your favorite Silhouette project?

Please leave a comment below….good….bad…indifferent….I read them all.

Wow …. I sure admire your gusto to explore these new techs Kathy. Not into it myself. Wouldn’t know what to do with everything. Haaa.

The (very green!) Sinclair stool is great …. love Dino! Nice keepsake for sure. I worked (office) for Sinclair Refining Co. years ago. Eventually name was changed to Atlantic/Richfield.

I know exactly what you mean for about “what now” with the silhouette! I’ve had mine for about a year and stalled out after I opened it. I don’t know what to do with it now! I know it will do lots of wonderful things but I get nervous thinking about projects!!

I just received my Silhouette Portrait and am in the same dilemma. I unpacked it right away, loaded the software and am thinking “now what?”.

I’m in the “Now What?” Club, too. No problem hooking it up to my computer and downloading the program. However, that sticky mat is darn too sticky for me. Even though I haven’t used my new Cameo too much, it sure looks pretty sitting on my craft desk!

It really is easy once you figure it out!! I know I already commented when you posted on Facebook awhile back, but had to again! ;)) I learn a little each time I use it though and still don’t have everything down! I can’t quite get print and cut to work, but its easy peasy for me to make stencils! Helps that I’ve made a few hundred though!! So I’d be happy to answer any questions about that. For anyone that didn’t see on Kathy’s page I suggested using contact paper for stencils. I get the $5-ish rolls from Walmart or Target of white contact paper and they work great for stenciling on wood and fabric. Even works great as white vinyl for non-heavy duty/use stuff.

And about the sticky mat….it’s definitely too sticky at first! I press mine on my shirt or some fabric first to keep it from being too sticky! It gets better with use….then when the sticky wears off I use a glue stick or spray adhesive on it, wait a minute or two for it to be just tacky not wet and that works well to make it last longer!

You’re one step ahead of me! Got mine in March and opened the bix right away but that’s as far as I got. Not even set on my table. I wish it had a more detailed instruction book. Good look learning!

I’m even worse than all of you..I’ve had mine since November & my son-in-law set it up..I signed up for the Silhouette Blog & get tips or project ideas 6 days a week..Also, if you go to the Silhouette On Line Store, there is a free design each week & a bunch of designs in their weekly clearance..And then last Dec/Jan I signed up for a membership deal that costs me $12 a month for $50 worth of designs each month..Now, what have I made?..Nothing yet, but I WILL attempt a stenciling project involving our family name & the year we got married..I have such a huge library right now & it’s calling my name!

I’m currently still dreaming about getting my Silhouette, so jealous! I’m pretty sure I will be doing nothing BUT playing with, and creating with mine once I get one. Can’t wait!

Hi, Kathy! I live in Waverly, TN and I’m gonna’ come junking with you one of these days! I follow you on FB and pinterest. I got my Cameo about a month ago and I’m still saying…..”now what”! I haven’t really had time to do much research yet and get overwhelmed when I do! Not really sure why I ordered it but it was just so darn cute! We have satellite so our bandwidth is limited and I’m not able to watch too many video tutorials! I’ll continue to follow you and see what YOU come up with! :)
