Fall Home Decorating Ideas
Today is all about Fall home decorating ideas featuring home tours from 20+ Home Decor/DIY Bloggers.
My Fall Home Tour …..starting in the Den….
Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe Table
I used Frog Tape® Shape Tape for the lines on the table.
I didn’t want to paint lines on my nice antique table and the Shape Tape backing is a pretty yellow so I cut 4 strips of Shape Tape to fit the table.
{see how I revived this flea market table here…..How To Make An Antique Table Beautiful Again}
I didn’t glue or tape it down in any way
It lifts right off.
Place the pumpkins willy-nilly or come up with a winner!
Where did I get this idea…you ask?…..
…from the October 2014 issue of Better Homes and Gardens.
My own spin on it of course.
I went to a local seasonal garden shop and picked up a few pumpkins.
The JTS also bought home some gourds from Rural King.
I will be buying more pumpkins when our local pumpkin patch opens…more reasonable than the markets.
The stripes on this one were kind of neat and I like the reflection in my flea market find mirror.
Square pumpkins on an end table.
I did an earlier post on the Fall Wreath I put together from my junk stash.
It’s still on the mantel with my other junky décor.
If it wasn’t for junky décor I wouldn’t have any décor at all.
Moving on to the kitchen/dining room…..
I’m still in love with the reclaimed pieces I turned into “designer wall décor”.
Because the green in the sconces is really bold I shopped my house for orange and green accent pieces to add to the china cabinet.
The whole display looks much better now.
Most of the year the colors of the display in the china cabinet are very neutral.
The plans for the dining room table involved lots of bright colors…..it just didn’t work.
On to plan 2……Green Glass Ball Heritage Jars to which I added branches cut ( or pulled ) from our bridal veil bush.
A silver serving platter finishes the display.
Now the table display doesn’t compete with the china cabinet and the wall decor.
I spruced up another flea market find then added gourds.
It works nicely on the bar.
Later I added the burlap detail…what do you think about the “hand tool”?
Sometimes the simple ideas are the best….
like filling this glass pumpkin jar with limes and mandarin oranges.
They were in the fridge so why not use them.
The colors are perfect for Fall.
I saved the best for last.
My favorite Halloween Treats.

The pumpkin tic tac toe actually came from better homes and gardens. Oct. 2014. Not sure if you update your sources or not, but the picture is identical to the one I’ve been trying to pin!

Thank you Jill. I corrected the error. Glad you pointed it out to me. Have a great day!

Hey there gal, I love it all. We used to buy lots of pumpkins and gourds at a place south of Bowling Green. She always had lots at affordable prices. The market wants too darned much for them. That or I’m just too cheap these days. Payday not til tomorrow so just using what I have in boxes of Fall stuff. Used to buy Indian corn to tie onto the door wreath.
In KY we had an arbor right at steps to our front porch. I’d decorate it every season, had good time doing it. People there decorate their front porches also. Our arbor had a planter on each side of it. We’d put lights on top of arbor and down sides. I still miss that house, had an awesome front porch. It was a great house. Our son bought it then renovated it for us, then we bought it from him. We had 1 1/2 acres plus he built us a great garage.
Wish the climate had agreed with me but just didn’t. I try not to think what our place here costs and what we have compared to what we had in KY. Our place here was more than twice as much and we have so much less. We do have 1/2 acre here. Guess the old story of how a person didn’t appreciate what we had til we didn’t have it anymore, duh. Happy days
